Illegal immigrant linked to Kate Steinle killing still faces federal gun charges, US attorney says

A California appeals court ruling overturning the illegal gun possession conviction of an undocumented immigrant who allegedly killed a woman on a San Francisco pier in 2015 has no effect on federal prosecution, authorities said Tuesday.
